Convert a Santander UK statement to Excel

Statement PDF, Excel download or midata: which Santander file to use

Santander’s online banking help lists a detailed statement download to Microsoft Excel, Quicken, Adobe Acrobat (PDF) or Microsoft Money, limited to 600 transactions per download on a personal account and 3,000 on a business account. The midata (CSV) option under Download transactions gives 12 months of history, with potentially sensitive transactions masked. RowBalance does not read Excel files; use the PDF statement or the midata CSV.

Santander statements in the app and online

In the app, tap Mailbox, then Statements and documents. In Online Banking, click Statements and documents. Statements download as PDFs, and Santander says you can see your account activity from the last 7 years.

Questions

Why does my Santander download stop at 600 transactions?

Santander’s help says you can only download 600 transactions per download on a personal account, or 3,000 on a business account. Download shorter date ranges, or convert the monthly PDF statements instead.
