Convert a Monzo bank statement to Excel

Monzo lets you download a statement for any date range as PDF, CSV or QIF from the app. RowBalance turns the PDF or CSV into Excel, read in your browser, and checks PDF statements against their balances.

Not every Monzo statement layout has been tested, so try one statement free and check the balance result before you convert a batch. RowBalance is an independent product of Forclev LLC and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Monzo. Monzo is a trademark of its owner, named only to describe statement compatibility.

PDF, CSV or QIF: which Monzo format to choose

In the Monzo app, tap the three vertical dots on your card, tap Bank statements, choose the date range and pick PDF, CSV or QIF. Monzo says this exports your transactions in the app, including Pots. RowBalance reads the PDF and the CSV. It does not read QIF, so choose one of the other two.

Monzo CSV or PDF statement

The CSV lists the transactions for the dates you pick, and RowBalance finds the date, description and amount columns in it. From the PDF, RowBalance checks the opening balance plus the transactions against the closing balance where the PDF prints them.

Monzo to Xero

A paid plan exports a Xero CSV or an OFX file. In Xero, open the bank account, choose Import a statement and upload the file.

How to do it

  1. In the Monzo app, open Bank statements, choose the dates and download PDF or CSV.
  2. Drop the file above and check the balance badge on each PDF.
  3. Export Excel or CSV free, or Xero CSV, OFX and QBO on a paid plan.

Excel and CSV are free for up to 5 pages a day, or 10 with a free account. QuickBooks, Xero and OFX files and batch conversion are on paid plans, from a $9 one-off pass: see pricing or go back to the converter.
